Microsoft Message ID: MC1191921 – 2026-01-13 | (Updated) New enrollment dashboard and data deletion controls in Teams Admin Center

Microsoft 365 Update

đź’ˇ Our Technical Review in summary

Summary

  • Overview: Microsoft is introducing a new enrollment dashboard and data management controls within the Teams Admin Center (TAC) specifically for voice and face biometric data.
  • Purpose: The update aims to provide admins with better visibility into the usage of AI-dependent features—such as speaker attribution, voice isolation, and personalized face-based room experiences—while enhancing data compliance capabilities.
  • Timeline: Rollout is scheduled to begin in mid-March 2026 and is expected to reach completion by late March 2026.
  • Roadmap ID: This update is associated with Microsoft Roadmap ID 506750.

Impact

  • Administrative Visibility: Admins will have access to a new dashboard displaying enrollment status, user counts, and aggregate metrics, providing a clearer picture of how AI features are being utilized across the organization.
  • Data Governance: Admins will gain the ability to view and permanently delete voice and face enrollment data for individual users or in batches. This provides a direct mechanism to manage sensitive data and meet internal or legal compliance requests.
  • User Experience: If an admin deletes a user’s enrollment data, that user will immediately lose access to personalized AI features (e.g., speaker attribution in meetings). To regain these features, the user will be required to go through the enrollment process again.
  • Configuration Stability: There are no changes to default enrollment behaviors or existing user-facing policies. The update only adds management and reporting layers for administrators.

Action Required

  • Review Compliance Policies: Organizations should review their biometric data retention and privacy policies to determine when and how the new deletion controls should be utilized.
  • Update Documentation: Internal IT support documentation should be updated to reflect that admins now have the power to delete enrollment data and that this action requires the user to re-enroll to use specific AI features.
  • Monitor Rollout: No manual activation is required. IT admins should monitor the Teams Admin Center in late March 2026 to familiarize themselves with the new dashboard interface and deletion workflows.

[Introduction]

We are introducing a new dashboard in Teams Admin Center (TAC) that gives admins new visibility into user voice and face enrollment data to help organizations better understand usage of AI-dependent capabilities such as speaker attribution, voice isolation, and face-based room experiences. Dashboard data includes enrollment status, counts, and aggregate metrics

This update also adds the ability for admins to view and delete end-user voice and face enrollment data directly from TAC. These controls strengthen compliance posture and provide more direct management of sensitive data.
