💡 Our Technical Review in summary
Summary
- Microsoft is updating the navigation experience within Viva Glint Reporting to provide a more intuitive user flow for leaders and managers.
- The current “Go Back” link, which returns users to the Reporting home page, will be replaced with a dynamic navigation system that preserves the user’s reporting context.
- This update facilitates “drill-down” and “drill-up” capabilities, allowing users to return to the previous state of a report rather than restarting from the home screen.
Impact
- User Experience: Managers and leaders will experience improved efficiency when analyzing data, as they will no longer lose their navigation flow when moving between different levels of report detail.
- Tenant Settings: The feature will be enabled by default for all Viva Glint environments. There is no administrative toggle to disable this update.
- Timeline: Rollout is scheduled to begin in early February 2026 and should be completed for all organizations by mid-February 2026.
- No Technical Overhead: There are no backend configurations or complex setup requirements for IT administrators.
Action Required
- User Education: Inform Viva Glint power users, managers, and organizational leaders about the change in the “Go Back” behavior to ensure they are aware of the improved navigation flow.
- Documentation Updates: If your organization maintains internal training videos or PDF guides for Viva Glint, update screenshots and instructions to reflect the new navigation experience replacing the old “Go Back” link.
- Monitoring: No technical action is required, but admins may want to monitor internal feedback during the mid-February completion window to ensure a smooth transition for leadership teams.

[Introduction]
Viva Glint Reporting users like managers and leaders will be able to retrace their navigation flow i.e. drill down and drill up in reports rather than lose their navigation flow within reports. Navigation improvements will replace “Go Back” to Reporting home page with an alternative clickable UX to enable users to go back to the last page of reporting they were in. In other words, this feature will cater to Back navigation improvements in Reporting.
